Christian Dior models under the Carayatids of the Erechtheion temple on the north side of the Acropolis in Athens, Greece (1951).
The leading French couturier Christian Dior was having his fashion collection photographed on the Acropolis, with the Caryatids as a backdrop, in 1951.
The pictures were taken by the famous photographer Jean Pierre Pedrazzini, for famous French magazine PARIS MATCH.
The result was one of the most historic fashion photographs of all time. Dior was then 46 years old, and had created his own fashion house in Paris just a few years before.
